Swap Meet Fever

Tomorrow I am headed to the Pebble Creek Retirement Community Swap Meet.  Not to be confused with a garage sale or rummage sale.

No...this is high end items sold in a swap meet setting along with food, music and loads of bargain hunters.  Serious bargain the kind that swoop in and buy up everything without mercy.

Taking my partner in crime with me tomorrow so we can score some fabo deals hopefully before anyone one else spots them and buys them out from underneath us.

Details to follow along with pictures.  We will have our game faces on.

a bientot !

St. Patrick's Day and A Little Green...

Not being one to decorate much for the minor holiday's, especially now that my children are older, I find inspiration in the beauty and colors  of spring and bring it in around the house.  After all Mother Nature knew what she was doing when she designed, you can't go wrong with her pallet.

Here are a few touches of green I snuck in around my home.

real limes in apothecary jar.

chippy green milk bottle holder that I use to hold silverware

green leaf salad plates just waiting to be called into service

kitchen window vignette
The kitchen window looks out to a our side yard, where there is a lovely flowing shrub.  I wanted to take pictures two weeks ago when it was just beginning to bud.  I didn't...but it has nearly leafed completely out.  This is also where my husband has hung a humming bird feeder.

little fake plant and white planter from Ikea

brown paper decopaged fruit from Micheal's.  $1.00 each
The topiary on the left is over three feet high, one of my favorite garage sale finds.  The little one was found at Ross.

Flowers bought on mark down for $1.40 at Fresh and Easy Market.  I love the color and the bunched up blooms.  Simple and non fussy, perfect for the kitchen table.

Picked up these Royal Norfolk plates and bowls today at a yard sale.  The picture doesn't do the color justice.  They are a lovely kiwi color, just the color I was hoping to add to break up all the neutrals.
Sea grass placemats found at the Junior League Rummage Sale a couple of weeks ago.  New with tags, only .50 each. Not having a green or St. Patrick's Day inspired napkin rings I opted for these lovely bee rings I picked up three or four years ago at Target on clearence.

Table is ready for our traditional St. Patrick's dinner, corn beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots.
My mouth is watering waiting for it to finish cooking.
What do you serve on St. Patrick's Day?

I hope you enjoyed the tiny tour...I am looking forward to adding more touches of spring to my decor.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Michael's Clearance Deals

What a month...I have been to two funerals, seen a new specialist and managed to get sick with the creepin' crud that everyone else has had at my office.  For the past week I have been home bound with breathing treatments, steroids, and antibiotics...not to mention a couple of visits to the doctors' office as well.

While waiting for prescriptions 4, 5, and 6 to be filled, I ventured over to Michael's where I saw a clearance signs on towers filled with goodies. Luckily it was still early and few shoppers had found the bonanza of mark downs.

Look what I found marked down to 2/$1.00.

 Darling Note Cards
 To Do Lists
Had to pick up a couple of these to share with friends.  Perfect for grocery lists or just note taking.
Napkin ORB...simply divine.  I bought the last eight they had, though I hope to find another Michael's with some more of the E's so I can have a set of four E's for my last name.

Here they are in showcased in animal print napkins.
Four inch bronzed letters...

I see some great crafting in my future.

As I headed in side for a quick look around I found all of this scrap booking paper for .14 each
Can't go wrong with these colors.  Bought four sheets of each.

Found this lovely Frenchy plate on mark down for $3.49 and knew it was meant to be mine.
Sorry the picture quality does not show how gorgeous it really is.

I placed it on my side table and created a French inspired vignette.
Of course I will be adding to this in the next couple of days.

Then I saw these...metal numbered tins.  I have just the thing for these.
They are nearly four inches high as well and rusted metal still my heart.  These were in the dollar bins and not on mark down, but oh so worth it.

I tell you, just that little bit of shopping wore me out!  Can't wait until I can get my strength back to do a little decorating and crafting.

a tout a l'heure, mes amies!
